Our client is the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas. It includes 48 owned, operated, joint-ventured and affiliated hospitals, 187 satellite outpatient facilities, eight joint-ventured emergency medical centers, 30 ambulatory surgery centers and 164 primary care clinics. Its 9,700 affiliated physicians and more than 47,000 employees see over 6.6 million patient encounters annually, through more than 900 patient access points.

Eleven of the system’s hospitals were listed in the 2015-16 U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” and "Best Hospitals for Common Care" ratings. Six of the hospitals have achieved Magnet® designation for nursing excellence and several of the regional hospitals and clinics received Health Care Information and Management Systems Society Analytics Stage 7 awards.

As part of its continuing commitment to quality in all aspects of care delivery and operations, the organization has a robust corporate compliance program with a goal of maintaining a culture of compliance focused on educating every employee on what is expected of them, and encouraging employees to identify and report potential compliance issues or concerns.

Our client now seeks a System Director Billing Regulatory Compliance to lead a staff of twenty one, primarily focused on revenue cycle compliance issues and physician coding compliance audits. The Director will be charged with managing an already high-functioning team and for creating relationships with employees and physicians such to increase demand for compliance services. The Director will identify compliance risks, develop the annual audit work plan, direct internal investigations, report audit findings, provide regulatory guidance and make changes to improve compliance response time, service and quality.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate an open, collaborative style. S/he must bring strong knowledge of revenue cycle compliance issues including a minimum of six years in compliance/audit and/or revenue cycle in a multi-facility organization. As the Director will lead a staff of twenty one, three years of management level experience is also required. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Certification in healthcare compliance will be considered a plus.
