BCM medical staff at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio totals approximately 160 physicians, 40 advanced practice providers and 40 General Pediatric residents.  Twenty-eight pediatric and obstetrics/gynecology specialties/subspecialties are represented which are supported by 15 administrative staff.  Physicians provide pediatric, primary, specialty, hospital, urgent and emergency care in 12 locations in central and northern San Antonio.  The majority of the active medical staff members are on faculty at BCM and the group maintains the BCM focus on research and innovation with a developing research portfolio.

BCM seeks an Affiliate Administrator (AA) to lead all operational, financial and administrative functions of the medical group.  The AA is responsible for cultivation of the shared leadership function between BCM and CHofSA. S/he will provide direct oversight of funds flow, create accountability for productivity, participate in evaluation of strategic initiatives related to research and academic programs and create and administer an annual budget.

Qualified candidates must possess 10+ years directly related experience with at least five years management experience.  Additionally, candidates must demonstrate success in developing and administering a budget, contributing to strategic planning, performance management and data analytics. A master’s degree is required; a CPA is a plus.  Experience managing a physician practice of comparable size is required; academic healthcare experience is very strongly preferred.

San Antonio is the 7th largest metropolitan area in the United States.  It is home to the South Texas Medical Center, the only medical research and care provider in the South Texas region.  The city has a diverse population of over 1.4 million people.  It is recognized for its very affordable cost of living and support of cultural activities including theatre, museums, on-going festivals and numerous public attractions as well as multiple outdoor sports venues.  Higher education is well-represented in the 11 colleges and universities in the area.
